10 Ways to Find your lost or forgotten SSS Number

One of the commonly asked question in the SSS Inquiries is how to know your lost or forgotten SS Number? Especially when it was several years since your last employment or your when your important documents were destroyed by fire or flood. Worry no more for we have enumerated 10 ways to find your lost or forgotten SSS Number!

If you are sure that you have an SS Number before, DO NOT  apply for a new SS Number because it may cause delay and complexities when you are about to claim for your benefits or availing of SSS Programs like Salary Loan. If you happen to have multiple SS Number, immediately go to the nearest SS Branch and apply for cancellation of your other SS Number so that all your accounts (Contributions, Loans, etc) will be transferred to your retained SS Number.

Here are few ways on how you will be able to know your forgotten or lost SS Number:

1. Check your old SSS ID
   If you were able to obtain and keep your old SS ID (the one that looks like a Driver’s license), then your SS Number can be found there. Unfortunately, if you have the new UMID, your SS Number cannot be found there. You may obtain your SS Number if you will call on the SS Hotline or email them.Tip: Take a picture of your identification card so you will have a digital copy of your ID just in case untoward incidents happen. Upload it in Google Drive or any cloud storage that you have, send it to yourself in your email, or keep it in your Facebook Photo Album (but make sure to keep the folder private for your own security).

2. Login to your SS Online Account
   If you still have access to your SS Online account, go login. You will find your SS Number just below your name in your profile (upper part of the page).You may login at www.sss.gov.ph. Use an Internet Explorer browser for better user experience.

3. Find your SSS E1- Form
   If you are able to apply for SS Number before (year 2015 or earlier), you should have a filled out SSS E1 (pink form) and a printed SS Number it it. You may have hidden it somewhere.If you applied for an SS Number online (year 2016 and later), a copy of your SS Number Slip and Personal Record Form was automatically sent by the SSS to the email you used when you signed up. Go check the email sent by SSS and you will see your SS Number there.

4. Check your pre-employment documents like Bio-Data, Resume, Personal Data Sheet, Company Employee Sheet, etc
   If you are diligent enough to fill in your SS Number, Philhealth  Number, TIN in the field in your Personal Data Sheet or the onboarding requirements of your employer, etc then this may be the time to reap the fruit of your diligence. You may have keep a copy of the file you submitted to your employer. Go check it. 😃
5. Check your Company ID
   If you are employed or previously employed, your company ID may contain pertinent information of yours like SS Number and TIN. Go check it. 😃
6. Ask your Company HR or Employer
   Your company’s HR officer should have a record of all your company records like SSS, Philhealth, Pag-IBIG, TIN. Ask them if you count get your SS Number through them. But make sure to double check using the other means stated here. I have co-employees before where their SS Numbers were accidentally interchanged by our HR. They have different SSS Premium, and the loan premium payment was remitted to a different account. Okay sana kung magkapareho lang ng premium, paano pag magkaiba? 😔
7. Call SSS Hotline
   Despite efforts of SSS to improve their service, their call center resource seem to be not enough to accommodate volume of calls. Laging busy. 😔 However, you may still try. You may call SSS Hotline at  920-6446 to 55 that is open 24 hours every weekday (24/5)  and ask if you can get your SS Number through them. Prepare to answer some personal verification questions as their security procedure.
8. Email SSS Helpdesk
   Write an email addressed to  member_relations@sss.gov.ph or onlineserviceassistance@sss.gov.ph and state that you want to know your forgotten/lost SS Number. Put your Full Name and Birthdate and attach one primary identification card (eg. Passport, Driver’s License, Birth Certificate) or any two identification available like company ID, Barangay ID, etc.
9. Leave a private message in the Official SSS Facebook Page
   Inquire at the Official SSS Facebook Page’s at www.facebook.com/SSSPh/ and leave your message that you want to know your forgotten SS Number. Put your full name, birthdate and attach a valid ID. 10. Visit any SSS Branch near you
    If you happen to be free during weekday, the most reliable way is to visit any SSS Branch near you. You are able to inquire personally with SSS Employees in the Member’s Assistance Section who has access to SSS Database. Just go there early in the morning so that you will avoid large crown and long queue.There are selected SSS Branches that are open every Saturdays.
