How I paid my SSS Voluntary Contribution using the Moneygment App!

Starting January 16, 2018, the Social Security System has implemented a new rule on paying a contribution. This has drastically changed the process of paying and most find it really inconvenient. Before, you just have to have your SS Number then go to any SSS Branch, Bayad Center or any payment center that accepts SSS contribution, accomplish their form then pay on their cashier. Now, you will need to obtain your SSS Payment Reference Number first which is a series of 14 alpha numeric characters that uniquely represents your SS Number, the month and the amount that you are paying for. The SSS PRN is currently used for paying SSS Contributions only. SSS has explained that the SSS PRN is implemented to facilitate correct and real time posting of payment and contribution.

Because of the implementation of SSS PRN, we have observed that the number of banks and payment centers that accept SSS related payments became limited. I used to pay for my SSS Contribution voluntarily to the bank near my office, but the bank teller told me that SSS has required them to upgrade their system to comply with the SSS PRN implementation and until they have complied with the required upgrade, they cannot accept any payment for SSS.

Before, I also used the Coins.ph App to pay for my SSS Contributions and Loans, however, they temporarily discontinued accepting payments for SSS, maybe also due to the compliance being required by SSS just like with other banks.

I tried to go to the SSS Branch in Diliman to pay for my quarterly SSS Contribution, but the queue can consume all your patience. There will be two process that you have to undergo: 1) Get your SSS PRN and 2) Line up to their Payment Teller. Many who were there told me that paying their contribution can consume half of your day just lining up to get the PRN and Pay it at the Payment Teller. For Self Employed and even Full-Time moms, a day wasted can really cost you a lot.

Good thing that when there is a problem, a solution arises! When I got discouraged with the new payment scheme of SSS, I searched the Facebook if there is some kind of “short-cut” to pay my SSS Contribution and Loan. And I found this Moneygment App by Togetech Inc.

What is the Moneygment App?

Moneygment is basically a mobile application that provides solutions for self-employed, individuals, small to medium enterprises, homemakers, OFW, and unbanked Filipinos. Their tagline in their website is, Your Finances in an app, Your future in a tap. It allows you to pay your Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth and SSS contributions and Bills, File and pay your taxes.

You may check more about the app at:

  • Website: Moneygment.ph

In Summary, I’ve grapped the Moneygment App’s Infographic from their Facebook page on How to Pay your Government Contribution only.

How to Download, Install and Use the Moneygment App in paying your SSS Contribution?

Disclaimer: This write up about the Moneygment app is NOT a paid or sponsored post. This is written in the initiative of one SSS Members whose only goal is to help SSS Members who are voluntarily paying their SSS Contributions to find ease in their SSS related transactions.

What I like about this Moneygment App is that the app can issue an SSS PRN inside the App since it already interfaces with the SSS System. No need to experience the hassle in contacting SSS contact center or lining up in the SSS Branch.

The app charges ₱25 per transaction and transfer fee depending on which service you will use. The good thing is, if you will pay quarterly or annually for your SSS Contribution, you will be charged with one transaction fee only.

The transaction is processed within 2 banking days from receipt of payment and will be reflected on your SSS account within 5 days.

How to Install the Moneygment App

1. Go to Google PlayStore or Apple AppStore then type Moneygment in the Search Bar

2. Click Get or Install button. (In my screenshot, I have installed the App that is why the button is already Open)

3. Create your Account then Login.

To Login, just put your registered email address and password. If you haven’t created an account yet, you may sign up using your EmailFacebook or Gmail account.

4. If it is your first time to use the Moneygment App, you must first to create an account and put your information like Full Name, Email, SS Number, PagIbig No, PhilHealth Number, TIN.

Good thing about the app is that you will encode your information once, especially your Government Numbers so that you do not need to find your ID everytime you will pay your Government Contribution.

There is also a validation if your entered SS Number is correct.

5. Now you may see your Account in the Account Tab. You may also add another account if ever you will pay for your Household Employee’s Government Contribution or your family member’s.

6. To pay your SSS Contribution, click the Pay Pag-IBig, PhilHealth & SSS square icon then select an Account that you will pay, then click the SSS icon on the lower part of the screen.

7. If you already have a Payment Reference Number, you may simply check the Already have PRN button then put your SSS PRN then Submit.

8. If you do not have a Payment Reference Number yet, the good thing about the Moneygment App is that it requests a Payment Reference Number to the SSS’ System real-time so that you can obtain your PRN within the app. You may change your Payor Type or Status if you are an OFW, Non Working Spouse, Self Employed or Voluntary. For the OFW, there is an extra field for Flexi Fund Payment.  You may pay for Quarterly also, to save on transaction fees.

9. After submitting your payment, there will be an email confirmation awaiting your payment, and another email to notify you when your payment is already posted. I used Paypal as my mode of payment, for convenience.

EMAIL CONFIRMING MY PAYMENT EMAIL NOTIFYING POSTING OF MY PAYMENT

9. You may check your transactions in the History Tab if it is already posted.

I’ve checked my SSS Account online and checked if my payment is really posted, and it is.
